The Remote Pilot Certificate course is the first requirement for a student to start their professional drone pilot career. Beeyond Drones, with its partner, has designed a training course that equips students with the skill and knowledge required to operate unmanned aerial aircraft (drones) in a commercial capacity safely and also guides and supports you through all the steps necessary to obtain your license from the SACAA.
The RPC allows drone pilots to operate an unmanned aircraft drone within the VLOS Virtual Line of Sight.

Beyond visual line-of-sight means an operation in which the remote pilot cannot maintain direct unaided visual contact with the remotely piloted aircraft to manage its flight and to meet separation and collision avoidance responsibilities visually.

The RMT course provides students with a fundamental technical understanding and implementation of drone maintenance principles and concepts.
The RMT course ensures students understand the drone manufacture compliance requirements through continued equipment maintenance and inspections.
An applicant for the issuing or renewal of an RMT authorisation shall:
(a) not be less than 18 years of age; and
(b) be a South African citizen or possess a valid permanent residence permit or valid temporary work permit with a letter of employment.
